HOUSING DEVELOPMENT 'LOODSEN'
In a former harbour area, but near the central trainstation in Amsterdam, this highdensity, and highrise, buildingcomplex was made.
The masterplan was made by the office I worked for, and 2 other architects offices where involved, developing 2 housingblocks each.
In the basement which runs under all the blocks, 260 places for carparking were realised, for the 290 dwellings.
On the groundfloor 5000m2 of retailspace was made.
The contrasts between far away and very nearby are being set on a high level. While living so close to each other, there is always the visual escape of looking in the distance over the water, or towards the skyline of the citycentre. Completed in 2006.
